Who is Hacker? Many people don’t know actually. They think hackers are bad people. No its not like that. Hacker is a clever Programmer with an advanced understanding of computers and computer networks who seeks and exploits weaknesses in a computer network or computer system. Usually they use a special software to identify weaknesses, which are then exploited. Majority of them usually hack for fun and challenge. Some has motives and some don’t. Most of the time they target big companies and authorities, but sometimes private individuals also.
They do not directly hack into the target, they use intermediary( base camp), for this they use backdoors and trojans. Trojan is multilated and shown as legal and harmless application to encourage the user to execute it. But Trojan carries danger. They are disguised as executable program same as viruses are disguised. One of the actions usually Trojans perform is to make themselves Auto-Start to be executed each time the system reboots.
The payload it carries is just a few lines of code that create a security hole so a backdoor program to be installed later. A backdoor program allows the hacker access to your computer whenever it’s on the Internet. It’s a remote control, which gives them access to the computer system. It’s important to avoid getting backdoors in your system. Hackers can be Classified as White hat, Black hat and Grey hat Hacker.
WHITE HAT HACKER
White hat hacking is consider similar to black hat hacking. But the difference is that A white hat hacker breaks security for non-malicious reasons. Companies around the world, who want to test their systems, contract white hackers to test their own security system and finds any faults.
GREY HAT HACKER
Grey hat hacker may use his skills for legal or illegal acts, but not for personal gain. Grey hat hackers sometimes find the defect of a system and publish the facts to the world instead of a group of people. Even though grey hat hackers may not necessarily perform hacking for their personal gain, unauthorized access to a system can be considered illegal and unethical.
BLACK HAT HACKER
Here comes the main HAT- Black Hat also known as Cracker. A black hat is a person who compromises the security of a computer system without permission from an authorized party, typically with malicious intent. Black hat hackers break into secure networks to destroy, modify, or steal data; or to make the network unusable for those who are authorized to use the network. Crackers keep the awareness of the vulnerabilities to themselves and do not notify the general public or the manufacturer for patches to be applied. Black hats may seek to expand holes in systems; any attempts made to patch software are generally done to prevent others from also compromising a system they have already obtained secure control over.
